John Frernadez and his family during his long term recover, Nov-11-2003, 8:11 PM CDM Chamber member bank Green Point Savings in Rocky Point is accepting donation to assist Lt. John Fernandez and his family that will be facing a long term recovery. John's feet were severely wounded. He was airlifted to Kuwait and transported to Spain. On April 15, John arrived at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. and has undergone series of serious surgeries. In his latest surgery his right leg has been amputated below the knee as well as his left foot. John is facing a long recovery period and many months of rehabilitation. His wife Kristi has taken a leave from her job to be at his side. This has not only been an emotional hardship but a financial one as well.
